How it works

Done in three steps.

Drop your WebP file

Drag your .webp file onto the zone or click to browse. Loads directly into browser memory. Nothing transmitted.

Set output to JPEG

Your browser's built-in Canvas encoder converts the file to JPEG locally. No network request is made for your file.

Save and done

The JPEG file saves directly to your device. Close the tab and browser memory clears completely.

Why convert

When to use WebP vs JPEG

A modern format developed by Google. 25-35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality. Supports transparency and is backed by all major browsers. The most widely used format for photographs. Lossy compression produces much smaller files with minimal visible quality loss at 75-85 quality.

Websites and landing pages

Converting images to JPEG reduces file size and improves page load speed, which directly affects Google Core Web Vitals.

Email and document attachments

JPEG files are typically smaller and more compatible across email clients and document workflows than WebP.

Social media and content

JPEG format ensures your images display correctly across social platforms without unexpected re-encoding artifacts.

Design and development workflows

JPEG is widely supported in design tools and browsers. Export assets in the right format for handoff without extra steps.

Privacy by architecture

Your files never leave your browser.

Most online tools upload your file to a server, convert it remotely, then send it back. This converter is architecturally different. Conversion runs via the browser's Canvas API on your own CPU. There is no server that receives your WebP file. Not even temporarily.

No file data transmitted over the network at any point

No account, sign-in, or email required to use any feature

Closing the tab clears all data from browser memory completely

Browser-native Canvas API, same encoder used in Chrome and Firefox

Common questions

Questions answered.

Is my WebP file uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and WebAssembly. Your WebP file never leaves your device at any point.
Will converting WebP to JPEG reduce image quality?
JPEG uses lossy compression. At quality 80 or above, the difference is imperceptible at screen sizes. Use the quality slider to find the right balance for your use case.
Does JPEG support transparency?
No. JPEG does not support transparency. Transparent areas will be filled with a white background on conversion.
Can I convert multiple WebP files at once?
Yes, with no batch limit. Drop as many files as you need. All processing runs locally in your browser.
Is there a file size limit for WebP to JPEG conversion?
No. There is no file size limit. The only ceiling is your device's available memory. Very large files may take a moment longer to process.
Will the converted JPEG file have the same dimensions?
Yes. Conversion does not change pixel dimensions. A 4000x3000 WebP image remains 4000x3000 as a JPEG file. Use the Resize Image tool to change dimensions separately.
